Gran Torino

I watched Gran Torino last night. I loved this movie. It is not an action packed movie or just your random enjoyable movie. This movie will make you think and Eastwood pulls off just an amazing character that has many layers. I actually was also a big fan of the priest in this movie. I thought his role was quite good. Now, the movie was a bit of a slow burn but well worth it. Plus, Eastwood's character's beer of choice was Pabst. Now that is what I am taking about!

I love how Ebert started off his review of the movie.

"I would like to grow up to be like Clint Eastwood. Eastwood the director, Eastwood the actor, Eastwood the invincible, Eastwood the old man. What other figure in the history of the cinema has been an actor for 53 years, a director for 37, won two Oscars for direction, two more for best picture, plus the Thalberg Award, and at 78 can direct himself in his own film and look meaner than hell? None, that's how many."

Well said Ebert.

Now, go rent it and tell me what you think!

I LOVED it too! Although some of the stuff he said was so old it had gone out of circulation. I had to ask my Dad what some of the racial epithets meant.

I just got this movie but have yet to view it. Eastwood is my favorite by far.

Watched it. LOved it. Classic Clint. Reminded me a little of his character in Million Dollar Baby.
