Beers around the World - Part I

So, one of my christmas gifts this years was a box filled with 10 bottles of beers. Each beers is from a different place in the world. This is actually a pretty cool gift. On Saturday, Michelle put five of them in the fridge for me and I drank them on Saturday before we left for my work holiday party.

Here are my notes from my worldly travels:

Beer 1: Mackeson Triple XXX. This beer was really dark. It was black. I loved the taste. It was not too thick and just excellent. It comes with no surprise that is brewed in England. Those guys know their beer!

Beer 2: Kronenbourg 1664. I have had this beer before when I was in London. It was my favorite light beer over there. It is actually brewed in France. Two beers in and this trip is rocking!

Beer 3: San Migel Premium lager. We have now caught some rough waters. I did not like the flavor of this much. The taste was strong. The color was gold. It has a little after taste. It was a heavier beer than I expected. It is brewed in Spain.

Beer 4: Kalik - Beer of the Bahamas. I love the name just because it reminds me of a certain beer that you can buy at Aldi...some of you know what I am talking about. This beer was a light beer. It tasted okay. It was a stronger flavor than any light beer here but not nearly as strong as a Corona. I think the name gave you an idea of where it is brewed.

Beer 5: Kingfish Lager. This beer was okay. Again, nothing special jumps out with this beer. It is a light colored beer. Taste is pretty bland. It says it s from Bangalore, India but I think it is brewed in the UK. Kalik and Kingfish were not very different. Both fine to drink but nothing to write home about.

The trip was a fun journey and I have to say that Mackeson was easily my favorite of the five. It will be tough to beat it. Hopefully I can finish the journey sometime soon!
