RIP John Hughes - And a top 5!

John Hughes is easily one of my favorite writer/directors ever. Most of his movies also gave love to Chicago. Any person growing up in the 80s knows his movies, has been influenced by his movies. Here are my top 5 favorite movies that John Hughes wrote. I am also attaching an awesome montage tribute to the myth, the man, the legend.

1. Ferris Bueller's Day Off - This is not even close. What a great movie.
2. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
3. Breakfast Club
4. The Great Outdoors
5. National Lampoon's Vacation (the original)

I want to give a shout out Wierd Science. I can not believe I left you off the top 5. Also, I want to tell everyone to watch Career Oppurtunities. It is a very underrated movie with a young Jennifer Connolley.

Anyway, here is the montage. What is your top 5?

1. Sixteen Candles (not close for me either!)
2. Breakfast Club
3. Ferris
4. Pretty in Pink
5. Mr. Mom

I must admit, in the past year, I saw Uncle Buck and Weird Science for the first time. Maybe if I'd seen them sooner, they'd have made the charts. The others are part of my youth.

Also a nod to Maid in Manhattan, which I remember being cheesy and wonderful, though I haven't seen it as many times as the others.

Jennifer Connelly, when young, was just about the hottest thing roaming the planet. She's still solid.
