Well, happy wednesday to all. Jackson is on day three of four of basketball camp today. Yesterday he learned how to take a charge. AWESOME! I can not wait to hear stories about today. Anyway, I am hoping for a good turnout in my comment section for today's top 5. I am going with top 5 board games! These are my favorite board games to play ever!
1. Monopoly - The giant of board games. Who doesn't love this real estate game?
2. Strat-o-matic baseball - I put a link here for people who have no idea about this game. Well, this is a played with cards and dice. It is a great game for kids who love statistics and baseball. I played hours of this as a kid.
3. Clue - One suspect, one weapon, one room. So fun!
4. Mastermind - This is a code breaking board game. Who doesn't love code breaking? I sense a theme...
5. Yahtzee - Is this a board game? If yes, this is #5.
If Yahtzee is not a board game, I would put Catch phrase next. You have a team and you have to give clues until they guess the word and then you pass it on. Whoever is holding the clue box when the timer goes off loses. This game is fun with a big group.
I know. I left off some big ones like Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit and Battleship but this is my list.
Have a good rest of the week!

Let's see:
1. Balderdash - Heart this game so much! You get to be creative & lie.
2. Scrabble - I get slightly competitive.
3. Trouble - with the pop-o-matic bubble! Actually, I just like this because Ahow & I made it into a drinking game in college.
4. Risk - Any game where I get to take over countries rocks!
5. Sorry - even though I get pissed when you're super close to home and you get sent back to the start.
1. Scrabble - so fabulous.
2. Sorry! - because I always win when I play Andy
3. Scattergories - no one ever wants to play with me though...
4. Gatoropoly - Gators version of Monopoly - awesome!
5. Cranium - fun party game.
Apparently none of you have ever played Phase 10, otherwise it would be #1 on your list, like so:
1) Phase 10 - its a card game so it goes wherever I go.
2) Apples to Apples - You have 7 noun cards in your hand and a "judge" gets to put down an adjective card. You put down your noun card that is best described by the adjective. The judge picks his/her favorite. You can play it serious or funny. Example: Adjective - Scary. Responses might be - Canada, Britney Spears, ghosts, and earthworms. The judge might choose Britney for fun or ghosts to be literal.
3) Yahtzee - the wife has been on a Yahtzee rampage lately.
4) Clue - played this with a guy named Derek who cheated on boardgames the most of anyone ever. I am competitive, but refuse to cheat. In our house, if someone inadvertently cheats (forgets to discard, etc) the response is, "Ok, Derek." or "Whatever, Derek."
5) Trivial Pursuit - I love to know a little about everything. You could say my entire life is a trivial pursuit.
This is just scratching the surface. We have a game cabinet that is 4 feet tall by 3 feet wide that is chock full of games and puzzles.
1. PayDay - Has anyone else played this game? It is phenomenal and I used to play for hours.
2. Sorry!
3. Clue
4. Scrabble
5. Stratego - Some weird old war boardgame my grandma had at her house that was pretty fun.
Sue: I used to play Payday with my brother when we were young (<10 years old). A couple of years ago, I got my mom's version that was from the 1960s. It smells all musty.
Also, the wife and I got Stratego from our wedding registry, but I haven't played it yet. I think it is sort of like Risk.
Trivial Pursuit - I have calmed down in my cockiness at this game, but I do LOVE it.
Scrabble - for godssake I played while in labor with the little lady.
Backgammon - so fun. so random. so awesome.
Scattergories - 60 seconds of fun. I always can get in one dirty answer.
Rummikube - played this in grade school and just got reintroduced to it. LOVE IT!
