Vacation Hangover

So I want to discuss vacation hangover a little bit with you all. I think you all will agree for the most part with my findings.

Usually for me, there is a lot of stress around vacation at work. Before you leave, you need to make sure everything is done and out. In addition, you need to make sure someone is covering things that will be happening those five days you miss, those long FIVE days you miss.

I am off the point a little here. Usually, when you get back to work, not much has happened. I mean it was ONLY five days. You have work piled up that needs to be done asap. Here is where the vacation hangover comes in.

On vacation, you were used to taking a nap around 2, getting up later, having a few beers in the middle of the day. Your energy level, stress level are all down on vacation. So that Monday back at work by noon you are tired. Then by two you are fighting to stay away at your desk just hoping to get through the day. The bad thing is that you have a lot of work to do. Your concentration level which you did not use for 10 hours a day on vacation is not there.

I hope you all know what I am talking about. It took me until Wednesday to get back into the full swing of the work week, get back into the routine.

It is funny to me that you take off 5 days but in reality it affects about 8 business days in all.

There is less stress also when you don't give a shit about your job.
